The Anchor Symbol

Why the anchor?

The anchor-cross is one of the oldest Christian symbols. Early believers carved it into the walls of the Roman catacombs. To anyone else it looked like an anchor. To them it was a cross, and a promise.

“Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast”

Hebrews 6:19

An anchor doesn’t stop the storm. It holds the boat steady while the storm passes. That is the kind of hope we want to put in the hands of the people you love.

What our seal means

  • The anchor-cross: hope that holds firm through any storm.
  • The olive branches: peace after the storm, like the olive leaf the dove brought back to Noah.
  • The circle: a promise with no beginning and no end. God with you, forever.

The anchor is the seal of our shop. And every piece we choose, whether it’s a cross, an angel or a pearl, is meant to carry that same hope to someone you love.
